Recap of Quarterly Presbytery Meeting 6-3-21
Virtual Workshop: "Investing in the Present:
Nurturing Young Disciples in Community"
Let's strike the phrase “children are the future of the church” from our vocabularies for one simple reason: children are the church right now! In this workshop we’ll talk about how we learn from children and youth, even as we strive to teach them well. We’ll talk about best practices for intergenerational worship, Children’s Ministry, and nurturing faith at home. Come prepared to share your own ideas as well through breakout sessions and discussion in addition to hearing Traci's ideas.
“Continuing the Courageous Conversation”

Plenary: "Teaching Faith at Home through Simple Practices"
Drawing on material from her three published books and conversations with hundreds of Christian educators, pastors and parents over many years, pastor and author Traci Smith will share easy ways for families to deepen their faith through simple practices at home.

Title: Who’s in Charge Here?”
“Not every leader marches at the head of a band” – Madeleine K. Albright
We think of great leaders as famous people….and some are. Inspiring others to follow. There are however other ways to lead. As members of the Reformed Tradition we take very seriously coming together as “councils of the church” to discern God’s spirit for the whole people of God. Leadership can be found in ‘reliable presence’, the hand of a friend, the extra effort of a teacher, the determination to be our best selves and to encourage others to “lift their sights” to be the people God calls us to be. What does it mean to be in charge? Look forward to sharing some ideas and engaging in conversation during this challenging season.
Workshop Title: “Faith, Hope & Love…
and the greatest of these is Love”
How do we build trusting, authentic relationships in a congregation? It takes commitment, maturity, study, reflection and honest conversations. Believing that God accepts me and loves me is a starting point. Acknowledging God’s grace and never ending love in my life allows me to reach out to others. It is the basis for our discipleship, service and allows us to grow in grace and wisdom as church leaders. This workshop will provide some tools to explore each person’s understanding of their faith and their gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ.
