Pre-Inquiry:
Entering the Process to Become a Minister of Word and Sacrament
Steps in the Pre-Inquiry Phase
- A person experiences the call of God to the ordained ministry of Minister of Word and Sacrament and shares this sense of call with his or her pastor.
- The pastor contacts Cheryl Carson, Central Florida Presbytery (CFP) Associate Executive Presbyter, or Laurie Farquharson, Chairperson of the Committee on Preparation for Ministry (CPM) and shares the above information. They will arrange for an initial contact with the person experiencing the sense of call about seminary options and the process of preparation to become a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA).
- The CPM Chairperson/Central Florida Presbytery (CFP) Associate Executive Presbyter provides the pastor and potential inquirer information and documentation about the steps in the preparation for ministry process.

- The session is also encouraged to make a plan to give financial support to the potential inquirer upon his/her entrance into seminary.
