CUBA TRIP FUNDRAISING FOR TRANSPORTATION AND TRAINING
The Cuba Partnership Team is returning to Cuba on March 14. We’ll be taking things to our friends in the Cuban churches such as medicine and Sunday School supplies. We will also take help for their transportation and for lay leadership training. Back in 2013 when the Presbytery to Presbytery partnership was formed, El Centro Presbytery told us that one of their most pressing needs was help with their transportation. On later visits, we saw a serious need for help with lay leadership training.
Since that time, you have been very generous. Your donations have helped keep the Presbytery bus and cars used by some pastors on the road. The bus is important because it moves church members around for various events, youth functions, women’s meetings, and visiting groups, like us, from the airport to the churches we are visiting.
Most of the pastors, as well as most other people, don’t have cars. All churches don’t have pastors, but are led by Elders and Seminary students. Transportation for Presbytery wide training, workshops, and other meetings is difficult. Money donated to Lay Leadership training is also needed to hep with the purchase of supplies and study material.
Now is a great time to make a donation to one or both of these projects because we’ll be able to carry your gifts to El Centro on our March Mission Trip. This is a foreign mission project that helps Christians in a nearby country. Help keep these churches viable. Send a donation to the Presbytery earmarked for one of these projects. Please consider making this an annual item in your church’s missions budget.
Thank you,
The Cuban Partnership Team
