MISSION AND SERVICE RESOURCES
Following the most recent tragic shootings in Gilroy, El Paso, and Dayton, many congregations may be wondering how they can help put a stop to the epidemic of gun violence in our communities. The following information may be of help as congregations explore ways to get involved:
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance’s film "Trigger: The Ripple Effect of Gun Violence” is a documentary you can watch with your congregation and share with your community. Trigger frames gun violence as a “disaster” and “public health” issue. It examines how one shooting impacts individuals, families and communities and gives voice to the questions and insights that arise. A study guide is available. The documentary DVD is available through the presbytery's resource center. Email Cheryl Carson to check it out. Click here for the study guide. The film is also now streaming on Amazon Prime. This is a first for the national church and it such an amazing opportunity to share the film around the world. Click here to read the Presbyterian News Service article here.
