Summertime is a great time to get out and get to know your neighbors.  It's also a time to get ready to begin the new school year.  You could choose one of the activities from this month's list.  Simply click on the orange title for the activity instructions.

Service Project:  Know Your Neighbors

Get to know your neighbors on National Night Out, the first Tuesday of August.   If there is no planned get-together in your area, invite your neighbors over for a gathering.

Bible Puzzle: The Good Samaritan Jigsaw Puzzle

This on-line puzzle goes along with the story of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25-37.  It has 48 pieces in classic puzzle piece shapes.  However, it can be changed to a variety of difficulty levels ( from 6 to 247 pieces) with a variety of types of puzzle pieces.

Church Celebration:  Blessing of the Backpacks

On the Sunday before the new school year begins, ask your pastor to include a "Blessing of the Backpacks" Litany.  It offers a prayerful start to the beginning of the new school year for children and youth.
