WESTMINSTER BY THE SEA DEDICATES PLAYGROUND

by Ashley Camp, Director of Christian Education

Westminster By The Sea Presbyterian Church joyfully dedicated its newly renovated playground on Sunday, February 16th, following the 11:00 am service. The dedication marked the culmination of months of planning and hard work, made possible through the generous support of the congregation and a grant from Columbia Theological Seminary.

Although the Daytona Beach Air Force Staff Sergeants and recruits who helped with the playground’s construction were unable to attend due to their service at the Daytona 500 race that day, the church community gathered to celebrate this exciting new space. The ceremony included a heartfelt blessing and words of gratitude for all who contributed to bringing this vision to life.

The new playground is not only a place of joy and connection for the children of Westminster By The Sea but also a welcoming space for the broader community. As a designated shelter for Longstreet Elementary, the church is committed to providing a safe and inviting environment for children and families, especially in times of need. The playground enhances this mission by offering a fun and friendly area where children can feel at ease.

Additionally, the impact of this playground extends beyond the church walls. Westminster By The Sea is exploring partnership opportunities with the UCF Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, aiming to foster connections among families and create a space of inclusivity and community engagement.

“Our hope is that this playground becomes a gathering place of joy, friendship, and faith for families within our congregation and throughout the community,” said Ashley Camp, Director of Christian Education. “We are grateful for the overwhelming support that brought this project to fruition.”

Westminster By The Sea Presbyterian Church continues to live out its commitment to serving the community by creating spaces where love, faith, and fellowship flourish.
