News from the Executive Presbyter/Stated Clerk
CLERGY AND MINISTERIAL ETHICS COURSE
During the September stated meeting, the Sexual Misconduct Preventions and Response Team announced a course of required minister ethics/boundary training. This training is a two-hour course offered by Safe Gatherings. All ministers, including honorably retired ministers who are active in some way within he presbytery, are expected to take this training, as well as commissioned pastors, inquirers, and candidates. The cost of the course is covered by the presbytery ($22).
To complete the requested training you will need to start at the Safe Gatherings website, https://safegatherings.com/, where you will click on the green “Clergy Ethics Course” button on the top right of the page. (You can also access the link to Safe Gatherings through the CFP website). This will take you to a registration form where you will need to enter the following information.
If typing the above does not offer the CFPresbytery – Clergy option, try typing the word clergy first, and the full option should appear in the drop-down box.
When you verify that you are not a robot, you will move to the next screen where you will provide a little more information to create your training account in Safe Gatherings. After you provide your contact information you will click NEXT. On this next screen you will receive the message that your training has been paid for by Central Florida Presbytery.
Then, in the next screen, you will be at your Welcome screen where you will see the blue button “Click here for Training Course”. Please click on that button to be taken to the course. You will need to enter your user name and password to begin the course.
The course is in several modules and concludes with a quiz to verify that you have taken the training. It takes about two hours and does not need to be completed in one sitting. When complete, you should get a digital certificate that you have completed the course. Please share a copy of this with Dan Williams in the Presbytery Office so you can be recorded as having completed this required training
If you have any questions regarding the requirement to complete this training, please contact Dan Williams at the Presbytery Office. If you have any questions on the creation of your Safe Gatherings training account or the access to the training in your account, please contact Safe Gatherings directly at 407-422-7125, 208 or email@example.com.
