ST. CLOUD PRESBYTERIAN OPENS NEW THRIFT SHOP
By Hugh Lackey, Pastor, St. Cloud Presbyterian
After months of preparation St. Cloud Presbyterian church celebrated with a Grand Opening of a new thrift store. In addition to many congregation members, speakers at the event included the president of the chamber of commerce, the mayor of St. Cloud and congressman Darien Soto.
The Presbyterian Women at SCPC operated a Thriftee Shop for over 30 years in downtown St. Cloud. They were forced to close at the end of 2016 when the property was sold. For five years we have looked for a new site and by the grace of God we found a space in the Westgate Mall in St. Cloud. Many church members contributed between 2-3,000 hours furnishing the shop with donated shelving and displays and processing the thousands of donations given by members and friends of the church.
100% of the revenue will be given back to organizations supporting the needy in St. Cloud and beyond as God directs.
