Greetings from the Moderator April 2018
One of the special privileges of being the Presbytery Moderator is the opportunity to visit so many congregations as we celebrate the start of new ministries, with the installation of new pastors; as we meet as the Body of Christ to do the work of the church; or as I visit by your invitation.
While I will see many of you on these occasions, we will also greet each other at COLE and FISH events and perhaps other Presbytery organized assemblies. But I am open to visiting you at your churches to share about the wonderful support we, as congregations, receive through the dedicated servants in the presbytery office.
I am also available to meet with your sessions, if desired. In the years that I served on the Budget committee I had opportunities to answer questions and concerns about our finances. If your church leadership wants to discuss this or other church related topics, I’d be glad to meet with you.
A couple years ago the Presbytery Council commissioned a task force to work with churches with under 100 members. We wanted to be a resource for those congregations as they look to the future and discern their vision and mission as a congregation. I participated in that task force and the congregation I served was a benefactor of its work. If your congregation is in the process of discernment and wants to share your thoughts about God’s plan for you, I’d be happy to sit with you. I don’t promise to have any insight that is helpful, but I would be available and one more worker in the vineyard.
Thank you for placing your trust in me and allowing me to have the honor and privilege of serving as your Moderator.
