Greetings from the Moderator MARCH 2025
Grace to you and peace! Just a short message for you this month. It’s March, which means it’s time for the first Presbytery Meeting of 2025, where we will come together to take care of business, but more importantly, where we will meet to worship and reflect on God’s will for us.
One of the questions that we respond to when being ordained to ordered ministry is: “Do you accept the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be, by the Holy Spirit, the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ in the Church universal, and God’s Word to you?” In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Paul reminds us that “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the person of God may be proficient, equipped for every good work.” (NRSVUE) In affirming this Constitutional Question, and in reading this scripture passage, we must then ask ourselves, “How can we possibly seek to do God’s will without reading and referring to the Word of God?” Therefore, I ask you to please bring your Bible with you to the Presbytery Meeting. We can then hold God’s Word in our hands as we hear God’s Word spoken aloud and see it printed in front of us. In the work that we do in our lives and at this upcoming Presbytery Meeting, let us be centered in Christ as we seek the will of God.
