Executive Presbyter Search Team Update
By Patricia Zinn, Committee Secretary

In light  of the Presbytery Council's action to change the new Executive Presbyter (EP) position to that of Interim EP, the task as an EP Search Team has also changed. However, we see the redirection as a refinement of our task rather than a set-back. We need to modify our answers to two of the most important narrative questions on the MIF, but answers to the remaining questions are still valid. We are in an excellent position because of our work over the past 7 months. The SWOT analysis and report to Council will be a baseline as Council develops a strategic plan based on the state of Central Florida Presbytery after COVID.
We are now updating our responses to the affected narrative questions on the Mission Information Form (MIF) and will then complete the remaining sections. We expect to finalize our MIF in the next two to three weeks. The completed MIF, after affirmation by Council, will be posted to the PC(U.S.A) Church Leadership Connection (CLC) system. At that point, the EP search process becomes more of a recruitment effort than a passive search. Synod Exec Valerie Young, who attends most of our meetings, will actively help with our search. We’ve already benefited from Valerie’s guidance, and we are glad she is part of our team!
We ask you to continue praying for our discernment of God’s guidance as we search in the belief that we are looking for that person God is already preparing to be our Interim Executive Presbyter.

Respectfully Submitted,
Pat Zinn, EP Search Secretary
