Easter Message from the Executive Presbyter/Stated Clerk
Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
After telling the story of Jesus, particularly his crucifixion and resurrection, John writes this in his gospel: Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name. [John 20:30-31 (NRSV)] This is a profound but also simple message, the good news of Easter. The cross is empty and the tomb is empty so our lives need never be empty but have the fullness of Christ. All of us here at Central Florida Presbytery wish you a joyous Day of Resurrection and Easter season! As we celebrate this holy season, may we affirm the Gospel of Jesus Christ as received from the prophets and apostles, and stand in continuity with God’s mission through the ages. May we present the claims of Jesus Christ, leading persons to repentance, acceptance of Christ alone as Savior and Lord, and new life as his disciples (see F-1.0302d). May we truly be becoming communities of faith, hope, love, and witness!
